Waste Recovery Services

Waste Recovery Services collects and disposes of waste on the Twin Cities Campus. We recover material resources from the solid waste stream and prevent the disposal of hazardous materials. We manage ReUse, Recycle, Zero-Waste, infectious waste and follow Minnesota's waste management hierarchy.

Reuse

The practice of giving materials a chance to be utilized by someone else before sending out for disposal.

Compost

Composting organic waste into a soil amendment.

Recycle

Materials collected on campus are hand-sorted and sent to be manufactured into new products.

Disposal

Unrecoverable non-hazardous waste is incinerated for energy recovery.

Hazardous Materials

Removing, transporting, separating, consolidaing and storing potentially hazardous materials and chemicals.
