Facilities Management's Maintenance Program ensures that campus buildings and systems remain safe, functional, and reliable. Our goal is to preserve University assets, minimize disruptions, and create a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Services are performed by our skilled mechanics and licensed trades professionals. Each year, our teams complete hundreds of thousands of hours of work across nearly 200 buildings, using a mix of proactive and responsive strategies as described below.

Building and Systems Maintenance
We take a proactive approach to keep equipment running smoothly and prevent breakdowns. This preventive maintenance includes regular inspections and servicing of mechanical, electrical and life-safety systems. Tasks include lubricating machinery, replacing worn parts, and testing safety systems. Examples:
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems (air handlers, chillers, boilers)
