TRIRIGA is LIVE!
Monday, September 28, 2020 - 11:52

Dear FM,

Today is a momentous occasion for the University of Minnesota and all of us in FM - TRIRIGA is LIVE!

In the same way that Mike Berthelsen and the EAM Team have shared their celebratory messages for TRIRIGA’s Go-Live today, I am excited for us and the functionality that TRIRIGA will provide our organization. Thank you for all the work you have done to prepare for today. This was not an easy task! We put A LOT of effort into configuring and testing the new system, creating courses and reference materials and the many, many other tasks it takes to undertake a project of this magnitude. We have launched an enterprise-class software system that is the first step in positioning us for becoming the best enterprise asset managers we can be, taking our organization to the next level.

This is the beginning of an exciting journey!
As we complete the project of launching TRIRIGA, we are just beginning the journey of using and optimizing TRIRIGA. You may recall that Compass was our system for just over 20 years, so we will undoubtedly be working in TRIRIGA for many years to come. This really is a momentous occasion. By now, most TRIRIGA users have logged in, begun to explore and use our new tool. As you become familiar with TRIRIGA and navigate these first couple of weeks, keep these key points in mind:

  • We are all in this together. Take a breath, realize that this transition will take time and will continue to evolve as we learn more (we’ve all already had experience with this adjusting to life during a pandemic - lean on your ability to adapt!). TRIRIGA is different from Compass, and we’ll need to take it one day at a time.

  • Be patient as the system may be a bit slow as we go through all of the activities to launch it.

  • Allocate labor hours and bill properly. Hourly users of TRIRIGA should account for all of their time in TRIRIGA using work tasks and activities. Note that some of you will be using the Kronos activities module which also launched today.

  • Training materials and guides will continue to be developed. Virtual instructor led training sessions run through October 9. If you haven’t already, please go to tririgatraining.umn.edu and complete your training.

  • Reporting continues to be developed. TRIRIGA system queries and reports are more robust and many reports are available now. Report development will continue. In a couple of months, the Business Intelligence (BI) reporting environment will be available. Stay tuned for more information on reporting.

      • 10/2 - 12:30 - 3:30 PM

      • Every day 10/5-10/9 - 8:30 - 11:30 AM and 12:30 - 3:30 PM

  • Continue to keep a watchful eye on your email for additional updates about TRIRIGA.

With the setting of a global pandemic, a presidential election year and people uniting to express their views on various social topics, we have just launched a University of Minnesota system-wide application that will be used by thousands of people to manage billions of dollars of university assets. Unprecedented, uncertain, tumultuous, crazy - pick your favorite word - for the times we are all experiencing today. As always, please make sure that with all this going on you and your coworkers continue to focus on safety in your daily work.

Have a great week!

Bill
