Northrop Chilled Water Pump Replacement

Northrop’s Free Cooling pump was recently operating poorly, exhibiting significant noise and higher-than-average bearing failures. This was attributed to a damaged pump frame occurring from improper pipe support, where the pump ended up taking the weight of the upstream piping. Chilled Water Utilities took the opportunity to replace the ailing pump with a larger model to provide more efficient cooling, and at the same time upgraded components to meet our modern design specifications which result in improved efficiency, quieter operation (important at Northrop!), and reduced maintenance.
